The MR2 LA single action, direct drive reel is based on the trusted MR2 design. The MR2 LA is a compact large arbor mooching reel that is tough enough to last a lifetime.

Like all of Islander's mooching reels, the MR2LA is built for harsh saltwater conditions. From its fully anodized frame, spool and smaller components to the hefty brass clutch, all of the components are machined from materials that will last in a saltwater environment. We're not kidding when we say this reel is built to endure the elements.

SPOOL AND DRAG

The MR2LA boasts a large arbor spool. The large arbor design allows for quick line pickup and eliminates the need to use backing as filler. On the inside of the reel the spool runs on three fully sealed, stainless steel ball bearings.

The MR2LA also features a frame-side free spool lever that places the spool into a drag-less mode, allowing for quick drops to a desired depth. The drag is adjusted through the sculpted spool side drag knob, and offers a wide range of drag pressures.

   disengage the drag

• Delrin® Handles - Every MR2 LA comes with two contoured Delrin® handles.
   Delrin® is a light, wear-resistant engineering plastic that can withstand    
   almost any environment

• Sculpted Dragknob - The spool-side sculpted dragknob is easily accessible and
   buttery smooth for infinite adjustments

• Right Hand Only - Because of the free-spool design, the MR2 LA cannot be
   configured for left hand retrieve
