The tippet sections on most knot-less leaders are fairly short. They may help you cast, but a 20-inch tippet leaves little room for changing flies, and doesn’t help with delicate presentations or reducing drag. Consider tying three to four feet of tippet on standard leaders of 9 to 12 feet long.
Consider adding extra tippet material to your leaders.
For years I used tapered 9-foot knotless leaders right out of the package on most trout streams. When I started adding extra tippet length, my drifts improved and I fooled more trout.
