Winter Reading

We are extremely lucky to have 3 very good books by Canadian authors available to us this winter, with one more due out in May.
Barry Whites "My" Bow River, the bible for Bow River anglers has been out for a few years now, if you haven't read it yet, get a copy. It's so much more than just a guide to fishing the Bow, any fly angler is bound to learn something from Barry. The table of contents is 105 items long, everything from river history, fishing methods, flies access points and much more are covered. Having guided on the Bow for forty years Barry knows a thing or two about it.

Phil Rowley has teamed up with Orvis to publish the new "Stillwater Bible" entitled "The Orvis Guide to Stillwater Trout Fishing" an impressive 330 pages or so of knowledge from the Stillwater Guru. Everything you need to know to fish lakes, from equipment, flies, watercraft and much more is covered in Phil's book. Phil has missed nothing in this book and you will learn from it, no matter how long you have been fishing lakes.

Stu Thompson has finally put his years of flyfishing/fly tying knowledge into print. Stu has caught more species of fish on the fly rod than most of us will ever catch, on any kind of tackle. Stu shares many of his original fly patterns, every fly tyer needs to own this book.
Jim McLennan has a new book called "Trout Tracks" in the works,it is due out in May, Jim has previously authored several fly fishing books and his writing is always thoughtful, educational and enjoyable to read, I'll be looking for this one
