Making up a bucket list of fish you would someday like to catch is easy, executing though can be tough. The first place I usually check are the fly fishing travel sites like Yellow Dog Fly Fishing Adventures or Fly Waters Travel. While you may not be interested in booking through them, it is still a great way to go, because their websites contain a bunch of useful information. They contain all sorts of info on seasons, tackle, and species available as well as if there are activities available in the area such as snorkeling etc. They also have travel news and updates which are very helpful with health issues such as Coronavirus and storm damage reports etc.
A little research will help you cross fish off of your bucket list.
Another great source of information is Facebook pages dedicated to fishing. There are numerous sites dedicated to all sorts of fishing from single species like Bonefish to general topics like Salt water fishing. Also there usually groups that are area specific, here in Alberta if I was looking for information on Golden Trout if I posted my question on the Alberta Fly Fishing site I would get lots of feedback. Sometimes on these sites you might get lucky and find an angler in the area you’re interested in who would like to arrange a trip trade, you float him on your favorite trout river and he reciprocates with some fishing on a Louisiana marsh.
Preparation can make or break a trip but in this day and age there is no reason to be unprepared for your next "Bucket List" fishing adventure.
