It's a perfect summer day. There's a light breeze, its overcast with some sunny breaks, and the temperature is comfortable. I have lots of choices available to me. There is great river fishing, good trout fishing, good pike fishing, and good walleye fishing. I decide I'm going walleye fishing.
Stay on fish once you find them. Once you have found a school of active fish stay on them. Many a time I see anglers trolling a shoreline from end to end. Each time they connect with a fish, they keep on trolling in the same direction until the pass is complete and then turn to go back and do it again.
Septembers on the coast are truly fantastic because this is coho time. Coho flood the ocean waters all up and down the coast as the summer progresses. They grow tremendously fast in these herring rich waters and by the time September rolls around there are plenty of robust, 8 to 14 pound eating machines out and about.
