Bill Robertson is a highly regarded and experienced individual with a true passion for fly fishing and fly tying. With over 40 years of expertise, Bill has explored and fished in various stunning locations, including Alberta, B.C., N.W.T, Ontario, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Arizona, Costa Rica, Mexico, and the Czech Republic.

Bill's dedication to the sport extends beyond his personal pursuits. He is an active member of Trout Unlimited, having joined the Edmonton Chapter in 1979. He has been a valuable contributor to the chapter, serving on the dinner committee since its inaugural banquet and auction held on June 3, 1986. Bill's commitment to the organization led him to serve as the Dinner Chairman in 1995 and as the Chapter President for six years. Additionally, he served on the national board of directors from 1988 to 1993.

As a member of the Edmonton Trout Fishing Club since 1982, Bill has actively contributed to the club's growth and success. He served on the executive committee from 1993 to 1995 and excelled in the role of program chairman in 1995.

Bill's dedication to promoting and sharing his knowledge of fly tying led him to co-found the Northern Lights Fly Tyers in 1994. He served on the executive committee from 1994 to 1997, leaving a lasting impact on the club's activities and development.

Recognized for his expertise, Bill has been a member of the Federation of Fly Fishers since 1985. His involvement in the organization included serving as the auction chair for the 1992 International Conclave.

In 1996, Bill transitioned into the fishing industry, joining Superfly Int. and The Fishin' Hole. His extensive knowledge and experience have been invaluable in his roles within the industry. Bill has also showcased his expertise by guiding in the beautiful Crowsnest Pass area.

Throughout his career, Bill has actively shared his knowledge and skills through organizing workshops, seminars, and slide shows. Notable figures in the fly fishing community, including Jack Dennis, Mike Lawson, Gary Lafontaine, Arnie Gidlow, Gary Borger, Dave Hughes, and Dave Whitlock, have collaborated with Bill in these educational events.

Bill's contributions to the fishing community extend to his published articles in magazines such as Alberta Hunting and Fishing, Trout Canada, and Fly fishing. He has also shared his expertise through online articles for The Fishin' Hole website.

With his wealth of knowledge and dedication, Bill has become a respected figure in the fly fishing community. His commitment to the sport and the organizations he has been involved with continues to inspire and uplift fellow anglers and enthusiasts alike.
